Birth Trauma & Loss
Your pain is valid. Your healing belongs to you.
A birth that didn’t go as planned. A loss the world doesn’t know how to hold. The weight of grief that arrives without warning. You don’t have to carry it alone.
In therapy, you’ll find a safe, compassionate space to process what happened, honor your experience, and begin to heal in your own time. There is no “right” way to grieve, and there is no expiration date on your story.
Trauma and grief look different for everyone – flashbacks, guilt, numbness one moment and overwhelming sadness the next. I use trauma-informed approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to help integrate distressing memories in a way that feels safe, paced, and empowering.
EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder. Research is also examining EMDR after traumatic birth, but the evidence is still developing. We will discuss whether it fits your goals and pace rather than assuming one approach is right for everyone.
